31st March 2018 saw two key first events at the Tri-C Academy.  Not only was it the first time the Centre of Medical Simulation (CMS), from Boston, held their Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop in the UAE, it was also the first course to be held at our new state of the art facility.

The one-day workshop was targeted at educators, instructors and anyone involved in the field of simulation.  Delivered by leading Harvard faculty, Dr. Demian Szyld (Senior Director at CMS) and Dr. Kate Morse (Assistant Director – CMS - Educational Leadership & International Programs), this innovative workshop combined a day long immersive in-person experience with online
learning.

Some of the key objectives of the workshop was to enable the educators to treat their learners as thinkers, practice multiple phases of debriefing and teach the participants to efficiently improve future performance.

Delegates and faculty enjoyed the workshop immensely with many requesting more collaborations with CMS to further develop the skills they learnt that day.  A very successful start for both the academy and the start of our series of health professions educational courses.
